New feature here at Classic Hits 24/7: Original vs Cover where we post two videos of classic rock song, one by the original band, the other a cover by another newer band or individual. We know everyone loves their original classic hits, but sometimes the covers are actually pretty darn good. Some might even say better than the original.
We start off the series with Steppenwolf’s hit from 1968, ‘Born to Be Wild.’ This song was described as the first heavy metal song, and the second verse lyric “heavy metal thunder” marks the first use of this term in rock music. It was also featured on the soundtrack for the movie “Easy Rider” and as a result has always been associated with bikers.
In 2009, the band Hinder did a cover (music video below) featuring lots of hot girls and even hotter cars. Which do you prefer?
