WATCH: Bob Seger – “Beautiful Loser” Rare LIVE Version – 1976?

It’s difficult finding videos of Bob Seger from back in his early days, performing LIVE. This is not the best video, but I think it gives you a sense of what it was like to see him perform in concert.

Here’s more on the song from Wikipedia:

“Beautiful Loser” is a song written and recorded by American rock artist Bob Seger. It was the title track on his 1975 studio album Beautiful Loser. The single only reached number 103 on the US Top 40, but became more widely known when it was included on Seger’s breakout album, Live Bullet (1976), where it was paired with “Travelin’ Man”.

The song is about people who set their goals high but never achieve anything. Seger got the idea for the song from a book of poems written by Leonard Cohen. Contrary to what many believed, the song is not about Seger himself. It took over a year to finish the song, and Seger wrote three or four versions of the song before settling on one that worked.

Wish I knew more about this video or when it was filmed, but my best guess is either 1975 or 1976. Anyone know for sure, please let me know!
