Who remembers how cool Arsenio Hall’s show was back in the 80’s? He breathed some fresh air into the stale late-night talk show format and introduced America to a lot of acts and artists that might not otherwise have made it on television at that time. Case in point is this 1989 appearance by the late 80s, early 90s glam metal/progressive metal band Winger, which consisted of Reb Beach, Rod Morgenstein, Kip Winger and Paul Taylor.
The single “Hungry” was off Winger’s elf-titled debut studio album which was released through Atlantic Records in 1988 and was produced by Beau Hill. The single came out in early 1989 and reached No. 85 on the US charts. The music video which was released for “Hungry” dealt with a man falling into a depression after his new wife dies in a car crash. (Who’s idea was THAT for a depressing video?)
So, here’s Winger on the Arsenio Hall Show on October 11, 1989 singing “Hungry!”
